Gross sales proceeds were $5,096, which absolutely crushes our previous record total of $3,779 set in 2004! These funds will be used to fund club expenses and activities during the year. Many thanks to all the members who contributed items, and special thanks to Gerry Thompson and Wayne Reading for organizing the donations from our friends and supporters in the business community. Thanks also of course to the bidders, who were obviously in a buying mood despite the absence of beer and hard liquor from this year’s event. The evening’s Big Spender was John Blackett, whose representative bid $574 for 4 items, including a Bow River float trip for 2 and a Livingstone River walk & wade trip. Looks like John is going to have a great summer! Honourable mentions go to Bill Peters, who spent $535 to scoop the lower Oldman River float trip and send a couple of young tyers home with extra fur and feathers, and Dennis Killips ($460) who partnered with Ed Ramsay to score the Bow River jet boat trip.
