Information on our Trophy Contests

For all “best fish” trophies, the fish must be caught on publicly accessible waters in Alberta in the calendar year. Entrants should send a photograph to “Trophies@Hookandhackleclub.org” with the measurement, waterbody and fly used information.

The H&H Ironman Tournament Trophy is awarded to the Member who accumulates the largest number of points based on their catch at the one-day event held in October. Members can submit their catch(es) for consideration towards any of the annual largest fish trophies.

The H&H Bare Bones Trophy is awarded to the Member who has been identified for being involved in an embarrassing situation while fly fishing as reported by a fellow Member.

The H&H Ruth J. Zinck Trophy is awarded to the successful Member in the annual fly-tying competition.

The H&H Pike Tournament Trophy is awarded to the Member who catches the largest Pike at the annual Pike Fishing event. The winner or any other Member cannot submit their catch for consideration towards the annual Northern Pike Trophy.

The H&H Ron Pike Award is awarded for outstanding contributions to the sport of fly fishing by a H&H Member in good standing as determined by a decision from the Executive of the Hook and Hackle Club. This award may not be awarded if a recipient cannot be determined.
